The draft roughed up Shedeur Sanders. The NFL will demand even more
The quarterback had to wait until the fifth round to be drafted. He now has to fight for his place on the Browns and prove those who briefed against him wrongWith the 144th overall pick in the fifth round of the 2025 draft, the Cleveland Browns ended Shedeur Sanders’ precipitous slide down the board, and gave him an NFL home. This was not at all what anybody outside the league expected. Based on Sanders’ tape alone, he looked like a second-round talent, which – based on quarterback prospects over time – could have shoved him into the first round, given the importance of the position.Instead, Sanders had to wait and wait and wait, and everybody watching on ESPN or the NFL Network had to wade through an intolerable level of Sanders discussion, while dozens of deserving prospects had their own stories overshadowed

Chris Eubank Jr beats Conor Benn by unanimous decision after frenetic brawl
On a night framed by manufactured rage and genuine vindication, Chris Eubank Jr outpointed Conor Benn in an initially close but ultimately clearcut victory. All three judges returned the same 116-112 scorecard in favour of the bigger, more poised and seasoned fighter who still had to weather some rocky moments when Benn hurt him.Eubank Jr was wobbled on numerous occasions but Benn, 28, was just too wild to administer conclusive punishment. In contrast, the 35-year-old landed the more effective blows, often in clubbing combinations, and Benn looked on the brink of being stopped in the last minute of the fight. Despite a cut eye and swollen face, Eubank Jr poured on the pressure as he went in search of the knockout

Narrow win ‘ideal’ for England’s World Cup preparations, says Mitchell
John Mitchell said England’s one-point win over France was the “ideal” test for his side with the Rugby World Cup on the horizon. The Red Roses won their seventh consecutive Women’s Six Nations title after holding off a late French comeback at Twickenham. It was by far the closest match for England in this tournament, with their other four matches resulting in dominant wins. The lack of competition that the Red Roses face have led some to believe they needed a loss or a close game to learn from in order to know the answers if challenged at the upcoming World Cup.“We were sitting in the coaching room and saying: ‘It was ideal for us,’” Mitchell said
Aldcroft holds nerve but England will need to raise level to go all the way at World Cup | Andy Bull
There’s no such thing as an easy grand slam and, in the very end, England’s turned out to be as hard-won as any of them. One point up with one minute to play after conceding a sixth try at the tail end of one of the great helter-skelter Test matches, their skipper, Zoe Aldcroft, had the smarts to lead the team in a slow march back from the posts to the middle of the pitch as the clock ran on into the red. The Red Roses were, at that point, one more mistake, one more missed tackle, one more France score away from going down to their first defeat since the last World Cup, in their final match before the next one.Twickenham was only half full, but the crowd was as loud as double the number. And in all the tumult, it was the French who folded
